In exciting news, Callaghan Innovation is piloting a conversational AI companion to help businesses easily access the information they need from government websites – a game-changer for streamlining processes.
Lastly, a quick reminder: applications are now open for the next Research Acceleration Programme (RAP) Stage II round, set for October 2024, focusing on early-stage medical device and digital health technology projects moving toward clinical application and commercialisation.

Capital Education & Planning 26 September 2024, 9am - 10.30am, Virtual Do you want to raise capital for your business? This foundational workshop will provide startups with a broad overview for early-stage companies that are about to start - or considering - capital raising. This online workshop will equip you with the information you need to make informed decisions as you start the capital-raising process.
Clinical Investigation Process for Medical Devices Workshop 22 October 12pm - 5pm & 23 October 9am-1pm After a successful workshop earlier this year, we are bringing back the Clinical Investigation Process for Medical Devices workshop, and have split the delivery across two half-days. This workshop provides you with an overview of the clinical investigation process and an understanding of medical device company responsibilities as sponsor, enabling informed business planning and effective engagement with service providers. Your workshop host will be Julie Jones, who brings over 20 years of experience in clinical research.
Health Economics Workshop 31 October, 9am - 3pm Understand the drivers and processes used to determine economic value and a health system’s willingness to pay for a healthcare product. This highly interactive workshop is intended for decision-makers and organisations wanting to systematically compare technologies, access new markets, and secure reimbursement strategies across several healthcare environments and systems. The workshop is co-produced with Te Tītoki Mataora.

Commercial Strategy & Planning 6 November, 9am - 4pm, Auckland Navigating health tech supply chains is challenging. This workshop equips you with essential commercial planning and strategy insights to chart your journey to success. Led by Dan Hansen, director of consulting firm Apagie, and CEO of Avert Group, this workshop is ideal for early-stage companies planning for their future market entry.
Quality & Regulations 14 November, Auckland Aimed at pre-spinout research groups and early-stage startups, this workshop covers the fundamentals of quality and regulatory considerations for medical devices. Offered in collaboration with Te Tītoki Mataora, this workshop is open to medtech startups.
Medical Software Regulatory Requirements 26 November, 9am - 3pm, Auckland Aimed at researchers and early-stage companies who are developing medical devices that contain software (SiMD) or software as a medical device (SaMD). This interactive workshop covers the regulatory aspects of SaMD and SiMD products supported by the HealthTech Activator and Te Tītoki Mataora MedTech Research Translator.
