Welcome to the July 2022 edition of the HTA Monthly Wrap. We had a fantastic gathering of sector stakeholders at Healthtech Week 2022 at the end of June, followed by the Demo Night for the HealthTech Supernode Challenge in mid-July - with both events demonstrating the strength of the NZ healthtech ecosystem.
Healthtech Week 2022 included awards for several NZ companies: Helico Bio and Virtual Medical Coaching were joint winners of the Callaghan Innovation HealthTech Award for Best Scale-up Company; Obex Medicaland HeartLab received the James & Wells MTANZ Innovation and Manufacturing & Export awards respectively; and Kitea Health nabbed the HealthTech Award for Best Translational Research Project.
Turning to the South Island, Vibration Action won the Te Papa Hauora Innovation Prize at the HealthTech Supernode Challenge Demo Night in Christchurch - a cash prize to support their commercialisation journey - and a special mention too for Callaghan Innovation staffer Strath McKenzie, who was one of the nine finalists as founder of dementia app re:Yesterday.
In this edition’s HTA news, we’re pleased to share a blog from our market validation workshop provider, Apagie, discussing collaboration insights from the leading US orthopaedic hospital, and we also share the recording of our June 2022 HTA European Market Access for Medical Devices webinar. HTA events kick off again in September: you can find links to register for all the workshops and other upcoming events on the HTA website.
Links to everything discussed above and more are provided below. If you have any comments or suggestions to improve our monthly roundup, we would love to hear from you! As always, thanks for subscribing to the HTA.
